Frequently Asked Questions

How deep can you trench?

We handle most residential depths — typically 6 inches to 4 feet depending on the project. Utility trenches need to meet code depth requirements, and we'll make sure we hit the right spec.

Will trenching tear up my yard?

We keep the footprint as tight as possible. You'll see the trench line, obviously, but we don't chew up the rest of your yard. We backfill, compact, and leave things clean.

Do I need to call 811 before you trench?

Yes — and this is important. You (or your contractor) need to call 811 at least a few days before we dig so utilities get marked. It's free, it's the law, and it keeps everyone safe.

Do you install the drainage pipe or just dig the trench?

We focus on the excavation side — digging the trench, setting the grade, and backfilling. For pipe or conduit installation, you'd typically have a plumber, electrician, or drainage specialist handle that part. We're happy to coordinate timing.

How long does trenching take?

Most residential trenching jobs are done in a day. Longer runs or harder soil conditions may take two days. We'll give you a clear estimate before we start.

Can you trench in tight or hard-to-reach spots?

Our compact equipment fits in backyards, side yards, and other tight spaces that bigger rigs can't get to. If there's equipment access, we can usually get it done.
